The scale lies...
Do remember that many of you are working muscles that haven't been developed so the rate of muscle & fat exchange will occur quickly the first month. The scale may not show what's going on under the skin but your clothes will.
MEASURE. This is your safety net. When you feel like you're not losing weight, remeasure and see if there's a change in the body. Staying away from the scale the first month will keep you going. I know it's hard, but if you insist on weighing, insist on measuring as well.
What to measure:
Neck/Bust/right & left arms and legs (arms flexed, thigh at biggest part and calves), waist and hips. You may find that your arms and legs are different sizes - this is normal. Measure every 2 weeks but certainly every month. Especially when you do any kind of weight training. And feel your clothes. Do you care if you drop numbers or dress size?
MUSCLE AND FAT WEIGH THE SAME. On the scale 1lb = 1lb. The amount of space 1lb of fat needs is much more than what 1 lb of muscle needs.
